Winter Letter Tracing Cards

When kids begin to write their letters, they need a lot of guided practice before they can write them independently, including letter formation alphabet practice. These fun Winter tracing cards shared in this post will offer two ways of using the cards, so they can easily be differentiated. Kids will pick a card and begin tracing the letters to help the polar bear get to the finish line. They are so much fun!

To prepare:

Print as many cards as you will need for your group of students. You can print one set and then split the cards so that each group in class can work on a set of letters. Laminate the cards and then cut them up. Before you cut up to separate the strips (the polar bear from its path line tracing strips) – make sure that your students are able to match the letter tracing strips with the letters on the polar bear first. If they aren’t able to do this yet then just have them work on tracing their letters.

Letter Tracing Activity Cards with Polar Bears

For the easier version, show the students that they will be tracing the upper and lowercase letters shown on the path strip. Have the kids pick a strip, say the letter on the polar bear then begin tracing using a dry erase marker. Once the group has finished you can erase the strips and have a new set of students working on them.

For the more challenging version of this activity, have the strips cut apart from the letter tracing strips (guided cutting line shown on the strips). Allow the students to match each polar bear letter card with its matching letter strip and then they could begin tracing the letters. Keep going until all strips have been completed. You can easily set up this activity again and again!

If you are looking for an engaging math activity to use with your young learners this summ Bee Math for Tots and Preschoolers

This activity is perfect for your spring, summer, and bee-themed homeschool preschool activities. This print-and-go activity pack is perfect for introducing and reinforcing early math skills to your preschoolers. All of the activity pages were designed in black and white to save on ink. Preschoolers can color the pages as they go, if they'd like.

Bee-Themed Preschool Math

In this bee-themed math pack, you'll find the following activities:

  • I Can Trace:
There are two number tracing pages. One page features the numbers 1-10 while the other features 1-20. Children will trace the numbers creating a path from the bee to its hive.

 • I Can Write:
These two pages are identical to the tracing pages except that the path is blank allowing for older preschoolers to write the numbers in order on their own.

 • Count and Graph:
Kids will count the items in the picture and color corresponding squares within the graph. They can color all of the images at the top of the page, if they'd like. It might help them to focus on each type of picture if they color as they go. Then, they can count the pictures they just colored before coloring the squares on the graph.

• Color By Number:
This picture features the numbers 1-5. Activities like this help kids focus on number recognition while coloring a picture they can later display.

 • Cut and Paste:
Kids will work on fine motor skills as they cut out the numbers on the side of the page. Then, they'll count the objects in each set and paste the correct numbers in each row.

• Find, Count, and Write:
Kids will hunt for and count each image on the page, and then they'll write the correct number in the box.

Your preschoolers will love each of the activities in this winter Winter Mini Activity Pack for Pre-K

This activity pack will make the perfect addition to your upcoming winter homeschool preschool lessons. These low-prep activity pages are a breeze to set up! Most are just print-and-go. A few can be laminated for multiple uses, but they can certainly be printed and used right away, as well.

Winter Activity Pack

The first page in this pack is a handwriting page. Kids will trace four winter words/phrases. They can color images for each word/phrase if they'd like.

Kids will work on their visual discrimination skills as they determine which image in each row is different from the rest. They can color or circle the different one.

They'll build patterns on the "what comes next" worksheet. They can color the images, and then cut/paste the picture that finishes each pattern.

Work on color words while coloring snowflakes according to the color word shown in each box.

Preschoolers can build a snowflake out of playdough on the snowflake playdough mat. Then, they can build or trace the word "snow" at the bottom of the mat. I suggest laminating this page for durability.

The snowflake and snowman mazes can also be laminated or slipped into a dry erase pocket. This allows the page to be used over and over again.
