This FREE Color Sorting activity includes 3 sorting mats with a total of 9 colors. There are 5 picture sorting cards for each color.
- red, yellow, blue
- green, orange, purple
- pink, brown, black
Ways to Play
You can do this activity in several different ways depending on the age and skill level of your child.
- For young toddlers, start with the "red, yellow, blue" mat and do only 1 mat at a time. Talk about the things you see in each picture.
- For older toddlers and preschoolers, give 2 or 3 mats at once and mix up the pieces. Ask the child to identify each picture as they sort by color.
For best results, turn into a reusable game by laminating the mats and pieces, and use velcro dots to attach the pieces.
