Spring Counting Mats

This no-prep activity is perfect for your homeschool preschool activities. All you will need to do to get started is print the pages out. Then, your preschoolers are ready for some counting fun. I suggest printing the pages on cardstock and laminating for durability. This will help extend the life of your printables so you can use them over and over again.

There are ten different counting mats to choose from. Each counting mat features the numbers 1-10 and fun graphics for spring or to use year-round. The numbers are randomly placed around the mat to encourage number recognition.

Materials Needed:

Provide your little ones with a variety of objects they can stack up to ten. For example, you could use unicorn erasers on the rainbow counting mat or Peeps candy on the Peeps counting mat. Suggestions for other objects to stack include mini erasers, buttons, coins, round cereal pieces, flat rocks, LEGO bricks, math cubes, or gummy bears (perfect for the bear mat).

These spring-themed counting mats provide kids with opportunities to practice number recognition as they name each number on the page. Then, they'll practice counting to ten as the stack their objects on the corresponding numbers. Stacking each object is also a chance to work on fine motor skills and hand-eye correspondence.
